The Ducati Streetfighter V4 is, without doubt, one of the most gorgeous looking motorcycles and has rightfully done justice to the previous generation model. It has the brute power and the right aggressive character that falls all in place. It is the same 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale V4 unit that powers the fully-faired Panigale V4 that pumps a fierce peak power output of 205bhp at 12,750rpm. And to control that kind of power, one needs to be well skilled for riding such motorcycles. Well, to take care of that, Ducati has planned to bring in a lower-capacity version of the Streetfighter V4 that will be based the recently introduced new Panigale V2.
The Panigale V2 is the successor to the Panigale 959 and is powered by a new 955cc, V-twin mill that is capable of churning out 159bhp and 109Nm. With those figures, one can enjoy the fast super sport experience without being too extreme. And Ducati wants to offer the same package on a similar naked bike platform. Besides that, expect the lower-capacity Streetfighter V2 to get all modern electronic gadgetry including cornering ABS, quick shifter and electronic engine braking control. It will also get MotoGP-derived anti-wheelie and traction control which is a now offered across the Panigale range. As for cycle parts, expect the Streetfighter V2 to come with fully adjustable Showa forks, Sachs rear shock and monoblock Brembo brakes. Like the flagship naked, the Streetfighter V2 will feature flat bars, exposed engine and a minimalistic look thanks to no fairing.
As for a timeline as to when we can expect the Streetfighter V2 to make it the market, the CEO of the company, Claudio Domenicali, mentioned that “the new naked model will come sooner rather than later”, which is enough to get us all excited already.
