Ducati India has confirmed via its social media handles that the Panigale V2 Bayliss edition will arrive in our market on 16 March, 2022. This version of the middleweight supersport model will be available in limited numbers. Here we tell you what to expect from the India-bound Ducati Panigale V2 Bayliss edition.
Design
The Bayliss edition is based on the standard Panigale V2. Thus, it retains styling cues such as sharp twin-pod headlamps, a muscular fuel tank, rider-only seat, a single-sided swingarm, a compact exhaust canister, and a sharp tail section. This edition is distinguished from the standard model through its unique livery that features a red base paint along with green and white coloured graphics. This motorcycle pays tribute to Troy Bayliss (Australian motorcycle racer) by featuring his race number 21 and his autograph on the fuel tank.
Engine
The changes are limited to styling revisions. The specifications, on the other hand, remain unchanged. Thus, the Bayliss edition retains the 955, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder motor that produces 152.9bhp of power at 10,750rpm and 104Nm of peak torque at 9,000rpm. The engine is linked to a six-speed gearbox.
Features
The feature list on the Bayliss edition, similar to the standard Panigale V2, includes projector LED headlights, LED taillight, 4.3-inch colour TFT display, carbon fibre and titanium exhaust cover, a quick shifter, and three riding modes (Race, Sport and Street). Electronic rider aids comprise cornering ABS, traction control system, engine brake control, power modes, wheelie control, and auto tyre calibration.
Hardware
The hardware on the Bayliss edition include Ohlin NIX30 43mm adjustable inverted front forks and Ohlin TTX36 fully adjustable rear monoshock to handle the suspension tasks. The braking duties are handled by twin 320mm semi-floating discs with Brembo Monoblock callipers at the front and a single 245mm disc at the rear. The 17-inch five-spoke alloy wheels are wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa ll tyres.
Expected Price
The Bayliss edition is expected to carry a premium over the standard model’s 17.49 lakh price tag. We expect the Panigale V2 Bayliss edition to retail near the Rs 18 lakh price level.
