Ducati has introduced the BS6-compliant Panigale V4 in the Indian market. The motorcycle is available in Standard and S variants, and they have been priced at Rs 23.50 lakh and Rs 28.40 lakh, respectively. Here we list the alternatives that potential buyers can consider in a similar price range.
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R (Rs 14.99 lakh)
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is a budget-friendly alternative to the Panigale V4 series. The price difference between the base variant of the Panigale V4 series and the Ninja ZX-10R is a massive Rs 8.60 lakh. The Japanese litre-class supersport motorcycle uses a 998cc, inline four-cylinder engine that produces 200bhp (210bhp with RAM Air) at 13,200rpm and 114.9Nm of peak torque at 11,400rpm. The 2021 ZX-10R packs several styling upgrades and new features. The updates include a revised front fascia that features winglets built into the upper cowl. The 2021 model also benefits from new LED headlights and a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster.
The BMW S 1000 XR is a touring-friendly performance motorcycle that uses the same engine as the company’s litre-class supersport model, the S 1000 RR. The engine on the XR model, however, is tuned for better power and torque delivery throughout the rev range. The 999cc, inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine on the S 1000 XR produces 162bhp of power at 11,000rpm and 114Nm of peak torque at 9,250rpm. The motorcycle is available in a single variant, and it comes equipped with features such as full-LED lighting, an electronically adjustable suspension setup, and a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster.
Kawasaki’s litre-class naked roadster is available at Rs 21.90 lakh. For that price, the motorcycle comes equipped with Kawasaki’s supercharger technology. The 998cc, inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled, supercharged engine makes 197.2bhp at 11,000rpm and 137Nm of peak torque at 8,500rpm. Apart from a plethora of electronics, the feature list on the Kawasaki Z H2 comprises full-LED lighting and a Bluetooth-enabled colour TFT display. Buyers can also opt for the more premium Z H2 SE variant of the motorcycle that is available for Rs 25.90 lakh and features a semi-active electronically-adjustable suspension setup.
Streetfighter V4 S (Rs 23.19 lakh)
The Streetfighter V4 S is a practical alternative to the Panigale V4. Both motorcycles from the Italian two-wheeler maker use similar underpinnings, although the Streetfighter packs city-friendly ergonomics. The power and torque output figures, too, are almost similar on both motorcycles. The 1,103cc, V4-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine on the Streetfighter V4 S produces 205bhp at 12,750pm and 123Nm of peak torque at 9,500rpm. Buyers can either go for the Dark Stealth colour option that is available for Rs 23.19 lakh or opt for the Ducati Red paint that is priced at Rs 22.99 lakh. The feature list comprises an LED headlight with a V-shaped LED DRL, an LED taillight, a split-style seat, a single-sided swingarm, and 'biplane' wings.
Harley-Davidson Electra Glide (Rs 24.99 lakh)
Buyers who are looking for a relaxed riding experience can consider the Harley-Davidson Electra Glide that is available at Rs 24.99 lakh. The bagger-style motorcycle is powered by a 1,746cc, V-twin engine that makes 150Nm of peak torque. The feature list isn’t as comprehensive as other motorcycles in this list, and the Harley-Davidson Electra Glide features an analogue instrument cluster with a small digital screen. It does, however, come with upright ergonomics and floorboards to deliver enhanced comfort. Its touring persona is further complemented by a fairing design with a windscreen at the front and a pair of saddlebags at the back.
