Ducati launched the Panigale V4 R in India at Rs 51.87 lakhs (ex-showroom, India). It is the race-spec version of the standard Panigale V4. Limited to only five units for India, the Panigale V4 R can be booked at any Ducati dealership across the country. Those booked before 30 November will be delivered by the first quarter of 2019 while those booked post this date will be delivered by second quarter.
The Ducati Panigale V4 R is a road-legal version of the WSBK race bike which will compete in the 2019 season. The engine has been tweaked to match the racing guidelines and it houses a 998cc Desmosedici Stradale R motor that generates 218bhp and 112Nm of torque. On the other hand, the standard bike churns out 211bhp and 124Nm from its 1,103cc powerplant.
The design is also in line with the MotoGP bikes incorporating winglets on the fairing and larger windscreen. The chassis and frame have also been tweaked for sharper handling. It is suspended on mechanically adjustable race-spec Ohlins suspension and gets forged Marchesini wheels.
The electronics package include Bosch cornering ABS, traction control, slide control, wheelie control, launch control, bi-directional quickshifter and engine brake control. Moreover, the inclusion of pit limiter and lap timer make it all the more racing-oriented.
The Ducati Panigale V4 R will go up against the MV Agusta F4 RC in India that is priced at Rs 48.94 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
