Ducati has launched the Panigale V4R in India at Rs 51.87 lakhs (ex-showroom) just a few weeks after its global unveil. The Italian manufacturer has allocated just 5 units for the country with deliveries to commence from early 2019. While it might remain a dream to most of us, we can still ogle at the Panigale V4R in this detailed photo gallery.
The Panigale V4R is the road-legal version of Ducati’s 2019 WSBK-championship machine.
The design of the V4R might looks similar to the standard bike. However, the chassis has been tweaked for better handling performance.
It also gets a larger windscreen, twin gill-like intakes on either side of the fairing and carbon fiber winglets that provide for efficient aerodynamics.
Underneath its skin, the Panigale V4R uses a 998cc, V4 unlike the standard bike’s 1103cc unit.
The V4R’s engine produces 218bhp and 112Nm of torque, an increase of 6bhp from the standard V4 and is mated to a bi-directional quickshifter.
It gets ride modes, cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, launch control and engine brake control along with a pit-limiter and lap timer.
It rides on 17-inch forged aluminum wheels on both ends wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa tyres.
Suspension duties are handled by 43mm, inverted front forks and a rear monoshock. Both units are fully adjustable and sourced from Ohlins.
Meanwhile, braking is carried out by twin 330mm discs for the front and a 245mm rear disc held on by Brembo calipers.
The Ducati Panigale V4R directly competes against the MV Agusta F4 RC in India which retails at Rs 48.94 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai)
