- 5909 bikes recalled in US
- Issue with rear brake hose
- Ducati will fix it free of charge
Ducati has issued a recall notice in United States with issues related to brake hose. A total of 5909 motorcycles have been affected by this issue.
According to the company, there’s a potential risk of air in the rear brake system which could reduce the effectiveness of the rear brakes. The company went on to say that the hoses for the rear brake system may be more susceptible to excessive gas permeation. This could pose a problem if there are long periods where there is no pressure inside the rear brake hose, including if the bike is not ridden for an extended period of time. If the bike is being ridden regularly, the rider will notice some issue with the performance of the rear brake.
This recall has affected Ducati’s multiple bikes. The Monster 797, XDiavel, Monster 821, Monster 1200 and the Supersport – all are a part of this recall. The Italian brand is in the process of informing its dealers and the owners will be notified next month. The brand will ask the affected owners to bring their bikes to the nearest dealer and the issue will be fixed by installing new rear brake hoses free of charge.
