Just two weeks before its global unveil, Ducati has released new images of the eagerly awaited Scrambler on its social networking site. The images preview the front of the yellow motorcycle in dim light, with the LEDs in their full glory.
The new Ducati Scrambler is a modern spiritual successor to the original Scrambler motorcycle of 1960s and 1970s. Like the original 250cc and 450cc Scramblers, the new motorcycle is expected to symbolise a minimalist approach and will be a modern representation of the iconic motorcycle. Though unlike its single-cylinder predecessor, the new Scrambler will be powered by the liquid-cooled 696cc V-twin engine which is also used in the Monster 696.
The Scrambler will be built around a trellis frame with a low exhaust pipe, a short tail and rear grab handles to give it a retro appeal. It will sport minimal bodywork, though a host of optional equipment is expected to be offered.
The Scrambler has already been shown to Ducati employees at its Italy plant and to a select few fans at the recent World Ducati Week in Misano circuit, though its first public appearance is scheduled at the 2014 INTERMOT Show in Cologne, Germany. It is expected to go on sale in the US market in early 2015.
