- Scrambler 1100 recalled in US
- Total of 1072 bikes affected
Ducati has recalled the Scrambler 1100 in US over a fire safety issue. According to the company, a total of 1072 bikes have been affected by this issue.
Ducati says that the cable that controls the exhaust flapper and butterfly valve built into the exhaust system that controls the flow of exhaust gasses, could potentially come in contact with the battery’s main positive wire. This could cause a short circuit and in some cases even cause a fire. The manufacturer says that there are no warning signs of the ongoing situation.
The company will get in contact with the affected owners through the dealerships and ask them to bring the bike to service center. The dealer will install a cable guide and self-locking cable tie to the exhaust valve cable that will prevent the cable from coming in contact with the battery wiring. All this will be done free of cost.
