The Ducati Scrambler 1100 has been spotted at a warehouse in India. The bike is likely to arrive in showrooms in the next couple of weeks with an expected price between of Rs 11 lakhs to Rs 12 lakhs. Dealerships have started accepting bookings for a token amount of Rs 1 lakh.
It is available in three variants globally- standard, Scrambler 1100 Special and Scrambler 1100 Sport. But in India only the base and the Sport variant will be offered. While the Scrambler 1100 borrows styling cues from its smaller siblings, it gets more aluminium parts, twin-underseat exhaust and a conventionally mounted number plate holder. The design of all three variants is identical too, except a few changes that differentiate them from each other.
The Scrambler 1100 Special gets a grey paint scheme, spoke wheels, a different handlebar, brown seat, gold fork tubes and a brushed aluminium swingarm. The Scrambler 1100 Sport on the other hand gets Ohlins suspension, Termignoni exhausts aluminium wheels, retro-themed seat and a black paint scheme with yellow highlights.
The bikes are powered by a 1079cc L-Twin engine that produces 86bhp and 88.4Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and also sports a slipper clutch. The Scrambler 1100 has a slew of electronic aids like a five-level traction control system, three riding modes- Active, Touring and City. It also gets an inertial measurement unit (IMU) along with cornering ABS.
The Ducati Scrambler 1100’s biggest rivals in India will be the BMW R Nine T Scrambler and Moto Guzzi Griso 1200 8V SE
