Ducati has announced a special collaboration with Van Orton to roll out body kits for the Scrambler Icon. Van Orton is the name of the design house run by Italian duo Stefano and Marco. Their artwork style is said to be inspired by the pop culture of the 1980’s and the 1990’s. This is evident in the burst of colours in their designs, reminiscent of stained glass and kaleidoscopic shapes.
The Van Orton body kit for the Ducati Scrambler Icon includes front mudguard, headlight surrounds, tank panels, side panels and tail section that contrast beautifully with the base colour of the bike. The kit comes with a certificate of authenticity and some stickers set to further individualise the bike
The vivid hues make the bike stand out and for those who love such colours, it’ll be quite the collectors item. Speaking of, the Van Orton bodykit is limited to 50 units worldwide. Those interested need to pre book one at a Ducati dealership. As for the price, it costs 690 Euros or a little over Rs 65,000. Taxes and import duties will raise the price.
Mechanically, the Scrambler Icon Van Orton is identical to the standard Scrambler. It is powered by a 803cc, L-twin engine that makes 73bhp at 8,250rpm and 65.2Nm at 7,000rpm, and pairs with a 6-speed transmission. The chassis is a steel trellis unit suspended by a 41mm USD and a monoshock made by Kayaba. The bike rides on a 18-inch front, 17-inch rear wheel while braking duties are taken care of by a 330mm disc at the front and a 245mm disc at the rear. There are a number of electronics that include ride modes, traction control and ABS.
In India, the Ducati Scrambler Icon is priced at Rs 10.39 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
