Ducati has released the third and last video on the revival of the iconic Scrambler. Along with the video, the Italian manufacturer has also announced that the 2015 Scrambler will be globally unveiled on September 20 in an online event, ahead of its public appearance at the 2014 Intermot international motorcycle show in Cologne, Germany.
In 1968, when the original Scrambler was launched in Italy, Ducati came up with an advertising campaign involving two of its employees, Franco and Alvira. Now, for the 2015 Scrambler, the Italian manufacturer made a three-part animated video to promote the motorcycle involving the adventures of these two characters.
The 2015 Ducati Scrambler is a spiritual successor and a modern representation of the Scramblers of 1960s and 1970s. Powered by the liquid-cooled 696cc V-twin engine which is also used in the Monster 696, the Scrambler will be built around a trellis frame with a low exhaust pipe, a short tail and rear grab handles to give it a retro appeal. The Scrambler will sport minimal bodywork, though a host of optional equipment are expected to be offered.
The Ducati Scrambler was first introduced in the US market in 1962 and went on to become a huge success. Powered by single-cylinder 250cc or 450cc engines, the Scrambler embodied a minimalist philosophy which represented the delight of 'grassroots' motorcycling. The new Scrambler will be a modern representation of this iconic motorcycle and is expected to go on sale in the US market in early 2015.
