Ducati has finally taken the wraps off its most anticipated motorcycle, the Scrambler. Spied couple of times, the Scrambler is available in more than one version– Icon, Urban Enduro, Classic and Full Throttle.
The four versions differ mostly cosmetically. The Icon version comes in yellow and red, and sits in the middle of the other three models: Urban Enduro, Full Throttle, and Classic. The Urban Enduro comes in a wild green and is for enduro style enthusiasts. The Full Throttle is more flat-track oriented and the Classic has been inspired from the 1970s and has been targeted at riders who are looking for pure riding pleasure, with the comfort of a modern-day bike.
The Ducati Scrambler gets its heart from the Monster 795. This 803cc air-cooled V-Twin engine churns out 75bhp at 8,250rpm and a maximum torque of 5,750rpm. This engine is mated to a six speed gearbox that transfers power to the rear wheel via a chain drive. Ducati says the technical specifications are not that important for this bike as it is all about enjoying your ride all the time.
It features a steel tank with interchangeable aluminium side panels, headlight with glass lens, LED light-guide and interchangeable aluminium cover, LED rear light with diffusion-light, LCD instruments with interchangeable aluminium cover, machine-finished aluminium belt covers and an under-seat storage compartment with USB socket.
Priced at $8,595 (Rs 5.32 lakh), the Ducati Scrambler is the most affordable motorcycle from the Italian line-up. This could be one of the few motorcycles to come to India in the beginning, once Ducati sets up its shop in India.
