Ducati India has confirmed that it will soon introduce the Streetfighter V4 in our market. While the company is yet to reveal the exact launch date, dealerships across the country have started to accept the pre-bookings for the naked roadster. Here we tell you what to expect from the India-bound Ducati Streetfighter V4.
Design
The Italian naked roadster packs a stylish design that won the crown of the most beautiful bike at 2019 EICMA. The motorcycle is built on the foundation of the Panigale V4, although it packs upright ergonomics than its fully-faired sibling. The motorcycle features an LED headlight with an eyebrow style LED DRL at the front, aerodynamic winglets, a split-style seat, and a single-sided swingarm design. The company claims that the winglets generate 28kg of downforce at 270kmph, thus delivering improved stability at high speeds, during braking, and through corners. Internationally, the motorcycle is available in two colour options – Dark Stealth and Ducati Red. While the company has not revealed the paint options for India, we may see both colours in our market.
Features
The premium feature list on the motorcycle includes an LED headlight with LED DRL at the front, a five-inch colour-TFT display, an LED taillight, and a six-axis inertial measurement platform. The electronic rider aids comprise riding modes, power modes, quick-shifter, cornering ABS, traction control, slide control, wheelie control system, Ducati Power Launch (DPL), and Engine Brake Control (EBC) EVO.
Engine
The Streetfighter V4 is powered by the same Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine that is also seen on the Panigale V4. The 1,103cc, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor produces 205bhp of maximum power at 12,750rpm and 123Nm of peak torque at 11,500rpm. With a dry weight of 178kg (S version), the motorcycle boasts an impressive power-to-weight ratio. The engine is linked to a six-speed transmission.
Hardware
The naked roadster is available in two variants in the international markets – Standard and S. The base version uses Showa BPF front forks, a Sachs mono-shock at the back, and a Sachs steering damper. The S variant, on the other hand, uses electronically-adjustable Ohlins NIX30 front forks, Ohlins TTX36, and an Ohlins steering damper. The braking setup includes twin, 330mm discs at the front and a single 245mm rotor at the back.
Expected Price
The new Ducati Streetfighter V4 is expected to retail at a premium price tag. Expect the motorcycle to arrive in the Rs 20-21 lakh (ex-showroom) price range.
