The updated Ducati Streetfighter V4 has gone on sale in India and is available in two variants- standard and S. The latter is significantly more expensive than the standard bike but you’ve got more equipment such as Ohlins electronic suspension and lighter wheels. Here are the top five highlights of the bike.
Design
The Streetfighter V4 is undoubtedly one of the most beautifully styled street nakeds out there. From the shape of the headlight and the DRL that gives it a menacing face to the muscular fuel tank and the slim tail, the Streetfighter looks as aggressive as its name suggests. The Streetfighter gets a new Grey Nero colour in this round of updates but Ducati purists need not fret as there’s a Red colour option with both the V4 and the V4 S.
Features
Since the Streetfighter V4 is a flagship bike, Ducati has equipped it with an impressive set of features. The variant we are talking about is the V4 S which comes equipped with Ohlins electronic suspension. It allows the rider to customise the damping at both ends with the few clicks of a button. This makes it extremely easy to set the ride and handling as per the road conditions.
The other set of features includes traction control, ABS, ride modes, up/down quickshifter and more.
Engine
At the heart of the bike is a 1,130cc, V4 engine and it pumps out 205bhp and 123Nm of torque. These figures should give you an idea of the ferocity of the engine’s performance but one can always dial it down by a few notches via the ride modes. The Low or Wet mode, for instance, reduces power to 157bhp and softens the throttle response for better control.
All said, this V4 is an absolute gem and packs enough perfect to keep you entertained for years to come.
Hardware
The Streetfigher features a lightweight, monocoque chassis. There’s a fully-adjustable USD fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels and in the case of the V4 S you’ve got forged rims by Marchesini. Braking duties are taken care of by twin, 330mm discs at the front and a 245mm disc at the rear.
Price and competition
With the updates, the prices of the Ducati Streetfighter V4 range has gone up. The Streetfighter V4 is priced at Rs 24.62 lakh while the Streetfighter V4 S will set you back by Rs 28 lakh. These prices are ex-showroom.
The Ducati goes up against the Kawasaki ZH2 and the BMW S 1000 RR Pro M Sport.
