The Ducati Streetfighter is a top-level, street naked motorcycle that is derived from the Panigale V4 superbike. We put the bike through a gruelling road test in Indian road conditions and it was more than up to face the challenge. While you can read the first ride review here, these are some of the images from the test.
The Streetfighter V4 is a rolling example of aggression and intimidation. The Joker’s character from the Batman franchise of movies is the inspiration behind the design. This is apparent in the shape of the DRL that resembles the Joker’s wicked smile. Even the muscular fuel tank, the biplane wings and the sleek tail section gives the Streetfighter a menacing look. It is truly a design that befits the name.
It has a Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine that makes 208bhp and 123Nm. These figures are enough to tell you that the Streetfighter is not to be messed with. While the performance it offers is truly insane and it’ll leave you grinning from ear to ear, it is also quite tractable. In fact, the engine can deal with the stress of riding in choc-a-bloc traffic, with rear cylinder bank deactivation coming to the rescue. That said, you do feel the engine heat but it is not unbearable to the point that you want to get off the bike.
What makes the Streetfighter V4 S a great road bike is the suspension system. The Ohlins units are electronically adjustable and it is amazing to see the level to which one can customise it. The bike rides beautifully over most undulating surfaces as well as potholes.
Find yourself a nice, winding road or the race track and the Streetfighter entertains with its handling abilities. It is precise, predictable and hence, confidence inspiring. The brakes are also quite powerful in bringing the bike to a halt.
The bike has a plethora of features that includes multiple levels of traction control, ride modes, power modes and more.
The Ducati Streetfighter V4 S costs Rs 28-lakh, ex-showroom.
