- Ducati Superleggera V4 will be limited to 500 units
- Is a higher-spec version of the Panigale V4 R
- Production will begin from April 2020 and deliveries from May
While the homologation-special Ducati Panigale V4 R already boasts of mind-boggling specifications, the Italian bike maker is all set to introduce a higher-spec Superleggera version of the motorcycle. Images and specifications of the sportsbike have recently surfaced on the internet.
The new Superleggera boasts of bi-place wings similar to the V4R version. However, it gets additional winglets which reportedly assist in providing an incredible downforce of 50kg at the speed of 270kmph. This setup of winglets has been derived from Ducati’s MotoGP machine. Making the motorcycle further manic is an extensive use of carbon-fibre on various parts such as frame, sub-frame, wheels, fairing and swingarm. This has helped Ducati extract a dry weight of as low as 152kg, which makes it around 40kgs lighter than the V4 R.
Talking about its power figures, the leaked specifications of the bike reveal some staggering numbers. The Superleggera will churn out 224bhp at 15,250rpm and 115Nm at 11,750rpm from its Desmosedici Stradale R V4 motor. However, the fitment of Akrapovic racing exhaust system can bump the power up to 234bhp. This is 20bhp more than the V4 R! Complementing all these traits visually will be Ducati’s MotoGP livery adorning the exclusive Superleggera.
The leaked document of the Ducati Superleggera V4 also mentions the pricing of the motorcycle in the US. It will retail at $1,00,000 (approx. Rs 71 lakhs) and will be limited to 500 units only. Production of this limited-edition sportsbike will begin in April 2020 while deliveries will commence from May 2020.
