- Euro5 model makes 108.6bhp and 93Nm
- Available in two variants in the international markets
- Gets several upgrades over its predecessor
Ducati India has confirmed that the updated Supersport 950 BS6 will be launched in our market on 9 September, 2021. The company announced the launch date via its social media channels. The latest iteration of the Italian motorcycle gets several cosmetic and mechanical upgrades over its predecessor. The Euro5-compliant model (equivalent to the BS6 emission norms) uses a 937cc, L-twin cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that produces 108.6bhp of maximum power at 9,000rpm and 93Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. The engine is linked to a six-speed gearbox.
Styling upgrades include a new full-LED headlight setup along with two fins and air intakes at the front, a sportier fairing, a muscular fuel tank, a tall windscreen, rear-view mirror integrated front turn indicators, a step-up saddle, and a twin-pod exhaust outlet.
The new Ducati SuperSport 950 is available in two variants – Standard and S – in the international market. The two models are distinguished through their respective hardware. The S variant, for example, comes with a fully adjustable Ohlins suspension setup and a passenger seat cover as standard. The base model, on the other hand, gets 43mm USD Marzocchi front forks and a Sachs mono-shock at the back. Standard features on both models include LED lighting, a 4.3-inch full-TFT display, a single-sided swingarm, raised handlebars, revised seat, three-spoke 'Y' aluminium wheels, and the Pirelli Diablo Rosso 3 tyres.
The BS6-compliant Supersport 950 series should carry a price premium over its predecessor. The discontinued variant, for reference, was available at Rs 12.08 lakh (ex-showroom).
