- Likely to be available in two variants
- Euro5 model makes 108.6bhp and 93Nm
- Expected to be priced above Rs 12.08 lakh
Ducati India will update its portfolio with the launch of the BS6-compliant Supersport 950 in our market tomorrow. The new model should arrive at a premium over its predecessor’s Rs 12.08 lakh (ex-showroom) price tag. Once launched, Ducati Supersport 950 BS6 will rival the likes of Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX in the Indian market.
The motorcycle is already available in several international markets where it uses a Euro5-compliant 937cc, L-twin cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 108.6bhp of power at 9,000rpm and 93Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. The India-spec, BS6-compliant motorcycle will carry similar power and torque output figures.
Apart from mechanical upgrades, the new Supersport 950 also gets styling changes over its predecessor. The new model, which draws styling inspiration from the Panigale series, features an updated headlight design, a sportier fairing, a muscular fuel tank, a tall windscreen, rear-view mirror integrated front turn indicators, a step-up saddle, and a twin-pod exhaust outlet.
Internationally, the new Ducati SuperSport 950 is available in two variants – Standard and S. We expect to see both variants on the Indian shores. Standard features on both models include LED lighting, a 4.3-inch full-TFT display, a single-sided swingarm, raised handlebars, revised seat, three-spoke 'Y' aluminium wheels, and the Pirelli Diablo Rosso 3 tyres.
The more premium S variant gets a fully adjustable Ohlins suspension setup and a passenger seat cover as standard. The base model uses 43mm USD Marzocchi front forks and a Sachs mono-shock at the back.
