Ducati India has updated its portfolio with the launch of the Supersport 950 and the Supersport 950 S. The motorcycle range is available from Rs 13.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India) onwards and it will rival the likes of Kawasaki Ninja 1000 in the Indian market. Variants and prices
The new Supersport 950 is available in two variants in the Indian market – Standard and S. The S variant gets fully-adjustable 48mm Ohlins upside-down front forks and an Ohlins rear mono-shock to handle the suspension tasks. It also gets a passenger seat cover as standard. The base model, on the other hand, uses 43mm USD Marzocchi front forks and a Sachs mono-shock at the back. The Supersport 950 is available at Rs 13.49 lakh while the Supersport 950 S has been listed at Rs 15.49 lakh.
Colours
The standard Supersport 950 is available in a single colour – Ducati Red. The Supersport 950 S is listed in two paint options – Ducati Red and Arctic Silk White. The Arctic Silk White colour is available at a premium of Rs 20,000 over the Ducati Red paint. This paint option has been priced at Rs 15.69 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
Engine
The differences between the two models are limited to cosmetics. The mechanical specifications, on the other hand, are identical. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, the BS6-compliant 937cc, L-twin cylinder, liquid-cooled engine makes 108.6bhp of power at 9,000rpm and 93Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. The maintenance intervals stand at 15,000km/two years.
Styling
The latest iteration of the Supersport 950 features a Panigale V4-inspired styling. The motorcycle comes equipped with a twin-pod headlight, a full-TFT display, a single-sided swingarm, raised handlebars, revised seat, three-spoke 'Y' aluminium wheels, and the Pirelli Diablo Rosso 3 tyres. The motorcycle also gets a sportier fairing, a muscular fuel tank, a tall windscreen, rear-view mirror integrated front turn indicators, a step-up saddle, a twin-pod exhaust outlet, and a waterproof USB socket under the seat.
Features
The electronic rider aids on the Ducati Supersport 950 include three riding modes (Sport, Touring, and Urban), cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, and a bidirectional quickshifter. Buyers can further opt for features such as an anti-theft alarm, heated grips, and Ducati Multimedia System (DMS). The motorcycle is backed by a 24-month/unlimited mileage warranty. The braking setup on both models includes twin 320mm rotors with Brembo M4-32 monobloc radial callipers at the front and a single 245mm disc with a two-piston calliper at the back.
