Ducati dealers have started accepting bookings for the SuperSport. The motorcycle will be launched in two variants – the SuperSport and the SuperSport S which can be booked for a token amount of Rs 1 lakhs in Delhi and Rs 2 lakhs in Mumbai.
With looks inspired by the 959 Panigale, the SuperSport offers comfortable ergonomics to make it more suitable for everyday use. At the heart of the SuperSport is a 937cc Testastretta L-twin engine borrowed from the Hyperstrada family. However, Ducati has made changes to the intake and exhaust systems to improve low range torque and add a longer final drive. The electronics package includes three-level ABS, traction control and three riding modes. The 16-litre fuel tank should also aid the bike’s touring capabilities. While the SuperSport gets Marzocchi front forks and a Sachs monoshock, the SuperSport S gets Ohlins units.
The SuperSport will share the market space with litre-class sports tourers like the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 and the Suzuki GSX-S1000F. We can expect the SuperSport to sport an ex-showroom price of around Rs 11.5 lakhs while the SuperSport S should retail at around Rs 13 lakhs.
