Ducati has finally launched the SuperSport and the SuperSport S for the Indian market today. The SuperSport is priced at Rs 12.08 lakhs, whereas the SuperSport S demands a little premium at Rs 13.39 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Unveiled at the 2016 Intermot show, the SuperSport is being positioned as a sports bike for everyday riding. It looks astounding, much like the Panigale 959, but the slightly upright riding and revised footpegs means that the SuperSport isn’t as demanding as the Panigale. The Italian manufacturer says touring on this bike is quite easy and with a fuel tank capacity of 16-litres, there’s no need for frequent fuel stops.
The SuperSport gets its power from the 937cc Testastretta L-Twin motor. This mill is also seen in the famous Hyperstrada family. It delivers 110bhp and 93Nm of peak torque and is mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. The SuperSport S model benefits from the quick shifter. Just like the rest of the Ducatis, this sportsbike has been loaded with electronic packages. It gets the Ducati Safety pack, Bosch ABS with three-level and traction control. It also gets riding modes which can be changed on the fly. The SuperSport gets Marzocchi front forks and a Sachs monoshock whereas the SuperSport S is loaded with Ohlins setup.
The Ducati SuperSport is available only in red colour, but the SuperSport S has two colours to choose from, red and white. The white SuperSport S is priced at Rs 13.60 lakhs. Ducati is importing these bikes from Thailand as a completely-built-up(CBU) unit. The deliveries of this new Ducati will begin today across all Ducati showrooms in India.
