- Teases off-road model.
- Likely to be Multistrada 1260 Enduro.
- To be unveiled on 12 October.
Italian manufacture, Ducati has released a photo on social media teasing a new model that will be globally unveiled on 12 October.
The photo depicts the Ducati logo on what seems to be the nose fairing of the Multistrada 1260 with muddied water on it, suggesting it to be an off-road model. Ducati had unveiled the Multistrada 1260 range at the 2017 EICMA, albeit without an Enduro variant. We can expect this new model to be the Multistrada 1260 Enduro.
The bike will continue with the design elements of the standard Multistrada 1260, although with a few cosmetic and mechanical changes to make it off-road capable. The 1260 Enduro is likely to ride on spoke wheels with dual-sport tyres and get a larger 19-inch wheel in front. It could also sport knuckle guards and an engine sump guard and longer travel Ducati Sky Hook suspension to further boost its off-road capabilities. We also expect the bike to get a bigger fuel tank capacity as compared to the standard bike.
The Multistrada 1260 Enduro is most likely to borrow the electronics package from the 1260S which includes the cornering light function, cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, vehicle hold control, ride and power modes. It will be powered by the 1262cc, V-twin engine that puts out 156bhp and 129Nm of torque.
We can expect Ducati to launch the bike in India early next year. It will compete against the BMW R1200 GS Adventure and the Triumph Tiger 1200 here.
