Ducati is planning to add two more dealerships to its network in the country by the end of this year. With the Italian marque banking on aggressive expansion plans to draw in more customers, Hyderabad, Calcutta and Chennai are currently the frontrunners for Ducati’s next two showrooms.
Currently, Ducati has dealerships in Delhi, Mumbai, Gurgaon, Bengaluru and Pune. This isn’t Ducati’s first stint here, as the Italian car marque had previously entered the Indian market in association with the Shreyans Group. However, this venture went south due to the poor sales and service network, which led to Ducati pulling out of the Indian market. This time around, Ducati took its own time in laying up the groundwork and setting up a sturdy sales and service network. Now, the company is planning to bank on this network to help it boost sales.
Ducati recently launched the 959 Panigale in the Indian market priced at Rs 14.37 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai), with deliveries set to commence in August. Before the end of this year, the company is planning to further strengthen its line-up by introducing the XDiavel and the Multistrada 1200 Enduro. Bookings for both these models have commenced for a token of Rs 1 lakh.
