Ducati has announced that it will be launching a new motorcycle by the end of September. While the invitation for the press launch of the same did not carry any details about the new motorcycle, rumours indicate that the Italian manufacturer will be launching a new litre-class naked bike.
This new motorcycle is speculated to be a spiritual successor to the 1098 Streetfighter, which was discontinued in 2013. Powered by a brutal 1099cc L-Twin engine, the 1098 Streetfighter was based on the 1098 Panigale superbike. The new bike is expected to follow this trend of being based on the flagship superbike, which means it might be a naked version of the 1299 Panigale superbike. This bike would be the top of the line naked motorcycle in the company’s line-up, positioned above the 848 Streetfighter.
Going by the way Ducati has been acting secretive, the chances of us getting our hands on any finer details prior to the bike’s launch in September seem very unlikely. For now, we will have to rely on rumours and speculations to keep filling in the blanks about the company’s plans.
