Ducati seems to be going all out with its launches this month. Just a day after launching the Scrambler 1100 Tribute Pro, the manufacturer has released teasers of an upcoming motorcycle that is scheduled to be launched on 16 March.
This motorcycle is going to be the Panigale V2 Bayliss Edition or the Panigale V2 Bayliss 1st Championship 20th Anniversary, as Ducati calls it. Paying homage to Troy Bayliss and celebrating his three World SBK titles, the motorcycle is available in limited numbers. Moreover, it sports the red, green and white livery from the 2001 996 R that powered Bayliss’ first world title. That said it also features his race number ‘21’ and autograph on the fuel tank.
The hardware on the Ducati Panigale V2 Bayliss Edition consists of includes Ohlins NX30 front forks, a TTX36 rear shock absorber, and a steering damper. It is also three kilograms lighter than the standard version. In terms of electronic rider aids, it comes with cornering ABS, a bi-directional quickshifter, traction control, wheelie control, and three riding modes (Race, Sport, and Street). However, the engine remains the same. The 955cc, L-Twin motor that sits in an aluminium frame churns 152bhp and 104Nm.
Now, the standard Panigale V2 is price at Rs 17.49 lakh, ex-showroom. And with all the equipment, livery and limited availability, the Special Edition model will cost a premium over the standard model.
