- Likely to get standard and sport variants
- Expected price Rs 11 lakhs and Rs 12 lakhs
Ducati will finally launch their most powerful Scrambler, the Scrambler 1100 on 27th August. The company has released this information through its social media accounts.
The Scrambler 1100 takes most of the design inspiration from its younger sibling, the Scrambler Icon Urban. But this motorcycle gets twin-underseat exhaust, more aluminium components and a different number plate holder. This bike is available in three variants, standard, Scrambler 1100 Special and Scrambler 1100 Sport. The Scrambler 1100 Special gets a grey paint scheme, spoke wheels, a different handlebar, brown seat, gold fork tubes and a brushed aluminium swingarm. The Scrambler 1100 Sport on the other hand gets Ohlins suspension, Termignoni exhausts aluminium wheels, retro-themed seat and a black paint scheme with yellow highlights.
The Scrambler 1100 is powered by a 1079cc L-Twin engine that produces a maximum power of 86bhp and peak torque of 88.4Nm. This motor is mated to a six-speed gearbox and also sports a slipper clutch. The Scrambler 1100 has a slew of electronic aids like a five-level traction control system, three riding modes- Active, Touring and City. It also gets an inertial measurement unit (IMU) along with cornering ABS.
Ducati India is likely to only launch the standard and the Sport models in India. These bikes are expected to be priced between Rs 11 lakhs and Rs 12 lakhs. Once launched, the Scrambler 1100 will compete with the BMW R Nine T Scrambler and the Moto Guzzi Griso 1200 8V SE.
