Ducati has unveiled two new Scrambler motorcycles – the Café Racer and the Desert Sled. The unveiling has happened just a day before the EICMA 2016 show.
The Café Racer is based on the Scrambler platform but follows the traditional Café Racer styling. Clip-on handlebars, short fairing, single seat with pillion cover are some of the few components that gives this Scrambler a distinctive look. In fact, the golden stripe on the fuel tank and the wheels adds extra appeal to this Italian motorcycle. The number plate installed on the right gives it a raw look.
The Desert Sled is a multipurpose motorcycle which the company claims is all new. While the chassis remains the same, the Desert Sled gets a new aluminium swingarm, dual-sport tyres, new front mudguard and a new headlight grill to go with the overall desert theme. Ducati has given this motorcycle a seat height of 860mm to make it accessible to a wide range of riders. The whole purpose of developing this motorcycle is to add little bit of adventure and off-road ability to the Scrambler family.
The Scrambler Café Racer and the Scrambler Desert Sled now get a Euro 4 compliant engine – an 803cc L-Twin air-cooled engine that produces close to 75bhp. Both the bikes will be displayed at EICMA 2016. And if you intend to get one of these home, chances are you’ll be able to do it soon. Ducati India will bring both these bikes to India as completely built-up (CBU) units from their Thailand factory.
Stay tuned for more information from EICMA 2016.
