Ducati V4R race-spec motorcycle made its public debut at the Bennetts British Superbikes finale held at Brands Hatch racing circuit in the UK. The showcased model is the V4RS version which is a MotoGP-inspired machine in terms of engine and components.
At the event, the Ducati V4RS was ridden by the MotoGP test rider Michele Pirro. It has been designed to comply with the WSBK (world superbike) championship regulations and incorporates Magnetti Marelli electronics along with race fairing. The engine has also been reworked according to the WSBK requirements and this motor is a MotoGP-based 1000cc unit. The standard Panigale V4 is powered by the 1103cc desmodromic four-valve L-twin engine that churns out 211bhp of power at 13,000rpm and 124Nm of torque at 10,000rpm.
Ducati WSBK riders Chaz Davies and Alvaro Bautista will be doing their first set of test runs on the Ducati V4RS next month. The production model of the V4R will be unveiled at the EICMA 2018 and is expected to be introduced in India by next year.
