Ducati has launched the XDiavel and the Multistrada Enduro in Indonesia. Priced at Rp 799 million (Rs 40.1 lakh) and Rp 809 million (Rs 40.6 lakh) respectively, these motorcycles were launched during the inauguration of the Ducati flagship store in Jakarta, which happens to be the largest of its kind in the world.
The Multistrada Enduro is a pimped up version of the Multistrada, aimed at making it more proficient at off-roading. It rides on rugged wire spoke wheels with knobbly Pirelli tyres, while the suspension travel has been raised to help it cope with rough terrains. Powering the Multistrada Enduro is the same 1198cc Testastretta DVT L-twin engine, which churns out 160bhp and 136Nm of torque. The electronics package has been carried over from the standard Multistrada 1200 S.
The Ducati XDiavel, on the other hand, is the Italian marque’s first ever cruiser. Built around a brand new steel tubular trellis frame with a single-sided swingarm, the XDiavel gets revised ergonomics to offer a more laid back riding position. At the heart of the XDiavel is a 1262cc Testastretta L-Twin engine, which delivers 155bhp and 129Nm of torque to the rear wheel through a belt drive. The electronics package includes cornering ABS, traction control, rider modes and a launch control system.
With this launch, Indonesia has become the first Asian country to get a taste of these new Ducatis. In India, Ducati dealerships have already started accepting bookings of these models for a token of Rs 1 lakh. While the XDiavel is expected to be launched by August, those wishing to buy the Multistrada Enduro might have to wait till November.
