Looks like Ducati is busy recalling its bikes. After recalling the 1199 Superlegerra for a clutch issue, the Italian bike maker has recalled its latest model – the XDiavel in North America.
As per Ducati, only the XDiavel S model is affected with this recall. The rear wheel on the XDiavel S might have been installed incorrectly onto the wheel hub. And if this was the case, then it might cause the drive pins to fail, which would result in a loss of brakes and power from the engine. This might lead to a crash that would injure the rider.
In order to fix this, Ducati will contact a total of 925 motorcycle owners via its dealers and ask them to get the bike to the dealership. The company will remove the rear wheel and install rubber inserts to prevent the wheel from being improperly installed. Also, if any wheel that is found to have been improperly installed will be replaced free of charge.
The XDiavel is a brilliant looking motorcycle and it’ll make its way to the Indian market soon. However, that’ll happen only in the next couple of months, as the Multistrada 1200 Enduro will be the first one to come to India.
