Ducati has been toying with the idea of introducing their first proper cruiser, the XDiavel, in the Indian market for quite some time now. Now though, we have confirmed news that the launch has been slated in September, with prices starting at Rs 15.56 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
The Ducati XDiavel will be launched in India in two versions, with the more premium XDiavel S demanding a premium of Rs 18.11 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). This version gets a different set of wheels, a bluetooth module, infotainment system and a more premium seat.It is also available in a glossy black colour, as opposed to the standard version’s matte black paint scheme.
Apart from its moniker, the XDiavel and XDiavelS share very few traits with its power cruiser sibling – the Diavel. They are built around a brand new steel tubular trellis frame with a single-sided swingarm. The ergonomics have been completely revised to offer a more laid back riding position. At the heart of the XDiavel is a Testastretta L-Twin engine, borrowed from the Ducati Multistrada. This state of the art 1262cc liquid-cooled mill delivers 155bhp and 129Nm of torque to the rear wheel through a belt drive. The electronics package includes cornering ABS, traction control, rider modes a launch control system.
Ducati will offer the XDiavel with a 2 year/unlimited kilometres warranty. The motorcycle can be booked for a token of Rs 2 lakh. With this price tag, the XDiavel will rival the likes of Triumph Thunderbird Storm and the Harley-Davidson Breakout.
