- Developed for motorcycles in the 300cc to 400cc range
- Can be installed on RC390, Ninja 300, Apache RR 310 and YZF-R3
Soon after Pirelli announced its venture into manufacturing racing slicks for quarter-litre displacement motorcycles, rival tyre manufacturer Dunlop has also done the same.
The American tyre manufacturer introduced the KR448 front tyre and KR451 rear tyre in different sizes and compounds. Designed for motorcycles ranging between the 300cc and 400cc category, these tyres will provide a firm grip, thus instilling more confidence in riders to take on the corners at the track at higher speeds.
For the front, Dunlop has two tyre sizes. The first is the 110/70-R17 which is available only in the extra soft compound and the 120/70-R17, which is being offered in four different compounds. For the rear, the tyres are available in five different sizes, of which, the 140/70-R17 is of most relevance to our market. The tyre is available in two compounds, extra soft and medium.
The tyres will be made at Dunlop’s Buffalo manufacturing plant. One can log into the company’s website for information on different sizes and compounds available along with technical details like hot and cold tyre pressures for maximum performance.
In India, the racing slicks can be installed on motorcycles like the KTM RC390, Kawasaki Ninja 300, TVS Apache RR 310 and Yamaha YZF-R3.
