Honda had temporarily suspended operations at its Kumamoto (Ozu-machi, Kikuchi-gun, Kumamoto Prefecture) motorcycle factory after two devastating earthquakes hit the area in south-western Japan. Now, after almost two months Honda has gone ahead and resumed production at the superbike factory.
During its period of closure, delivery times of models like the Goldwing and Africa Twin were majorly affected. The flagship motorcycle factory also manufacturers the CBR1000RR Fireblade, VFR1200G, NC750X, CRF250X as well as parts for these motorcycles.
Honda has said that it has partly resumed assembly of its main motorcycle models on June 6. Production was initially resumed on a small scale and the company is now aiming at a stage wise complete recovery by mid-August this year.
