The Benelli Tornado Naked T has been unveiled at the 2015 EICMA Motorcycle Show in Milan. The Tornado Naked T marks Benelli’s entry into a niche segment, which has been dominated by the Honda MSX125 (Grom) for quite some time now.
The Benelli Tornado Naked T has been styled to look like a shrunken version of the TNT 25. Complete with an exposed trellis frame and minimal bodywork, the Tornado Naked T gets all the characteristic styling cues of a streetfighter. It will be available in two trims, powered by 125cc and a 135cc engines. While the former produces 11.7bhp and 10Nm of torque, the latter is rated at 12.6bhp and 10.8Nm of torque. The 12-inch alloy wheels are offered with 120/70 front and 130/70 profile rear tyres. Upfront, it gets 41mm USD forks while the rear swingarm is linked to a monoshock with pre-load adjustability. Both the wheels get single disc brakes, and the fuel tank can accommodate 7 litres of fuel.
This niche segment has all of a sudden started seeing some activity, as Kawasaki unveiled the new Z125 at the Tokyo Motor Show, last month. Production of the Benelli Tornado Naked T will commence in the second half of 2016, and it is unlikely for this product to be launched here. Though these bikes don’t have a lot of demand in the Indian market, they are seen as legit modes of mobility for learners as well as for enthusiasts.
