Benelli has revealed the all-new Tornado 302 – the brand’s first fully faired sporty model since the legendary Tornado 1130. Unveiled recently at the ongoing EICMA 2015, the Tornado is essentially a fully faired version of the BN302 which is sold as the TNT 300 here in India.
Coming back to the Tornado 302, this new motorcycle is powered by an in-line twin cylinder engine. This 4-valve DOHC unit produces 36bhp at 12,000rpm and 27Nm of torque at 9,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Built around Benelli’s trademark trestle frame, the Tornado features 41mm upside down forks up front and on the rear swing arm, a mono with adjustable preload. The motorcycle also comes with a 14-litre fuel tank capacity.
Although it’s a faired version of the TNT 300, the Tornado 302 has all the essentials of a track motorcycle including Metzeler tyres, lightweight alloy wheels, 260mm floating discs up front and a single 240mm disc for the rear.
The Tornado 302 is due for release in the second half of 2016 with the option of ABS. Benelli is promising a competitive price tag for this forthcoming KTM RC390 rival.
