Ducati has released a new version of the Scrambler, christened Scrambler Flat Track Pro. The fourth model in the 800cc Scrambler range, the Scrambler Flat Track Pro has been styled to resemble the flat track racing machines competing in the AMA championships, and was wheeled onto the stage by World Superbike Champion, Troy Bayliss.
Based on the Scrambler Full Throttle, the Flat Track Pro gets competition plates in the front and on the side, a short dual-pipe Termignoni exhaust, chopped fenders and a smaller headlamp. The 10-spoke wheels are offered with semi-knobbly Pirelli tyres. It also gets a flatter handlebar for an aggressive riding position. At the heart of the Scrambler Flat Track Pro is the same 803cc air-cooled L-twin Desmodue engine. Producing 75bhp and 68Nm of torque, the engine is mated to a six-speed transmission. ABS is offered as standard.
The global success of the Scrambler seems to have motivated Ducati to widen its scope by introducing newer versions of the motorcycle. Besides the Flat Track Pro, Ducati also unveiled a new 400cc model called Scrambler Sixty2, which will be the new entry-level model in the Italian manufacturer’s line-up.
