Ducati has made its already popular Scrambler range of motorcycles a lot more accessible with the new Scrambler Sixty2. Unveiled at the ongoing EICMA 2015 in Milan, the Sixty2 is Ducati’s new 400cc offering designed to expand the brand’s Scrambler range of urban-friendly premium motorcycles.
The highlight of the Scrambler Sixty2, of course, is the new 399cc air-cooled engine. This two-valve V-twin engine shares quite a few bits with the 803cc engine used in the bigger Scrambler range. Speaking of which, the Sixty2 retains all the attributes of the bigger Scramblers like the upright riding position, low seat height and a relatively docile power delivery.
Stopping power comes from a single 320mm disc up front and 245mm disc at the rear. Ducati is also offering ABS as standard. What’s missing here though are the upside-down forks at the front. The Sixty2 uses traditional 41mm Showa forks instead.
The Ducati Scrambler Sixty2 will be sold in the UK at £6450 (Rs 6.45 lakh) which is only around Rs 80,000 less than the 803cc Scrambler Icon. We hope Ducati India comes up with a fairer price for the Scrambler Sixty2 to make it feasible for the ever rising number of big capacity motorcycle buyers in India.
