The Honda Montesa 4RIDE revealed at the EICMA 2015 in Milan will soon join its current stable mates the Cota 4RT260 and the 300RR. The idea behind the 4RIDE was to make a model that lets riders enjoy mountain riding and has been designed completely in-house at Honda’s production plant in Spain.
The inherent qualities of the RT260 namely response, lightness and versatility were withheld while revisions were made to accommodate a wider gear ratio for the 4RIDE. This means that the Montesa 4RIDE will be able to offer better comfort while riding steady speeds coupled with superior performance when covering longer distances. In lieu of these changes, engineers also tweaked the ergonomics by incorporating a seat and raising both the front and rear suspensions.
All said, the substantial change that sets this adventure version apart from its trial variants is the use of a 4.4 litre fuel tank, up from the regular 1.9 litre tank and hence increases its range. An underseat compartment has also been designed to be accessed beneath the seat with no need for tools.
The 4RIDE is slated to hit showrooms early next year and seems to be a promising buy for those interested in adventure riding.
