Honda has showcased the updated CB500F, CBR500R and CB500X at the EICMA 2015. They have undergone several rider-focussed updates with the intent to enhance their desirability. Upgrades to this range include LED head and taillights, adjustable pre-load on the front suspension, adjustable brake levers, larger fuel tanks with new hinged fuel cap and “wave” style ignition keys.
The CB500F naked street bike has been stripped down to look muscular and is now complemented by new paint shades. While the CBR500R now sports a new CBR look with sharp and edgy character lines flowing from its new front face through to the upswept tail, it has to be said that both F and R now have shorter exhaust mufflers with changes made to the exhaust note. The CB500X’s gets a larger tank, 100mm taller adjustable windscreen and comes adorned with new graphics and colours.
On the same track, Honda’s NC750S, NC750X and Integra have now been made EURO4 compliant. They also receive new DCT functions that include three levels of S Mode. The revised instrument panels are customisable with a choice of nine colours and while in ECO mode change colours according to the fuel consumed. There are new mufflers that lend a deeper tone to the parallel twin’s distinctive pulse. Front forks on both NC750X and the Integra get Showa’s dual-bending valves for improved damping and more linear suspension performance. All three models also receive aesthetic changes with new LEDs and unique metallic paint.
Honda also pulled its cover off the all-new CRF1000L Africa Twin for the first time in Europe. The Twins add some of the most modern motorcycle technologies to the original Africa Twin’s combination of all-round performance for touring comfort, commuting agility and genuine off-road capability, with an all-new 998cc new parallel twin engine. This engine is mounted on a frame built equally for toughness and flexibility and delivers instant response throughout the rev range.
