Benelli has unveiled the production model of the TRK502, its middleweight adventure bike. First unveiled at 2015 EICMA in concept form, this motorcycle has gained a lot of interest in the Indian market.
Benelli hasn’t changed a lot of things on the production version. The only visual difference is the presence of a bigger wind-screen and black tail piece instead of white. The TRK 502 is built around a trellis frame and is packed with the new 500cc liquid-cooled engine that produces 46bhp at 8500rpm and peak torque of 44.74Nm at 5000rpm. This engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox with a hydraulic clutch. The suspension duties are taken care of by a 50mm upside-down fork with 135mm of travel and a monoshock at the rear.
The base model of the TRK 502 gets 17-inch aluminium alloy wheel shod with 120/17 and 160/17 tyres and the off-road version is available with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel. As for brakes, the Benelli TRK 502 features dual 320mm discs squeezed by four-piston callipers up front and a 260mm rear disc with a single-piston calliper. Being an adventure bike, the Italian maker has given a good 20-litre fuel tank capacity on the TRK 502.
DSK Benelli will launch the TRK 502 in India next year. It will be positioned below the TNT 600GT, so expect a price tag of between Rs 5.5 lakh and Rs 5.8 lakh (ex-showroom Pune).
