Ducati has extended their touring lineup with the introduction of the new Multistrada 950. With this development, the Multistrada 950 becomes the most affordable and the most accessible Multistrada one can buy.
The Multistrada brand has always been at the premium end of the adventure touring segment but this smaller Multistrada should help the brand's perception change. The Multistrada resembles its bigger sibling , the Multistrada 1200, but is a little smaller.
Powering this tourer is the 937cc L-Twin engine that produces close to 113bhp at 9000rpm. The engine has been tuned for more mid-range. The smaller Multistrada also gets the Ducati Safety Pack which sports the Bosch 9.1 MP ABS with three-level adjustment and eight-level traction control system.
The suspension at the front is taken care of by 48mm inverted units with adjustable spring pre-load. At the rear, the Multistrada 950 gets a Sachs shock with adjustable spring preload (via a knob-operated hydraulic press), as is compression and rebound damping. This Italian tourer gets a 19-inch alloy wheel at the front and a 17-incher at the rear. This bike is shod with Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tyres as standard. Braking is delivered by Brembo monobloc radial callipers and dual 320 mm discs at the front and a 265mm disc with floating Brembo calliper at the rear.
The pricing of the Ducati Multistrada 950 will be announced in the next couple of days. We’re expecting Ducati India to launch this new tourer for the Indian market sometime early next year. Pricing is expected to be between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 13 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
