Honda has finally unveiled the production version of their adventure scooter – the X-Adv. First unveiled as a concept at 2015 EICMA, this scooter will be sold in Europe in the next couple of weeks.
Honda always wanted to create a rugged, tough looking scooter and the X-Adv is the answer to that. To make it adventure ready, the Japanese manufacturer has equipped the scooter with five-way adjustable screen, Africa Twin hand guards, aluminium handlebar, centre stand and rally-style instrument cluster. The scooter gets a long travel suspension, which is a must for adventure riding. There are other adventure bits on the X-Adv like spoked rims shod with dual-purpose tyres.
The engine on the X-Adv is the NC-derived 745cc parallel-twin engine that churns out 53.6bhp and is mated to Honda’s Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). The rider can choose from various modes the scooter offers – S mode allows for sportier riding, whereas selecting MT mode, gives the rider the option of manually changing gears. The X-Adv gets 21-litres of storage space which is pretty impressive. With a seat height of 820mm, this adventure scooter is accessible to a wide range of riders.
Honda will officially launch the X-Adv in the next couple of weeks. Unfortunately, this scooter won’t come to India as there’s no market for it, yet.
