KTM has finally unveiled their new motorcycle - the Duke 790 at the 2016 EICMA show. However, the Austrian manufacturer unveiled this bike in a prototype form.
This Duke 790 is one of the first parallel twin motorcycles from the Austrian manufacturer. Built on an all-new chassis, the Duke 790 will be powered by KTM’s new 800cc parallel-twin engine. While the company hasn’t given any power figures yet, expect it to be class leading. Just like the rest of the bikes in its Duke line-up, the Duke 790 prototype gets a super aggressive design language that is surely going to appeal to a lot of young buyers.
KTM says a lot of the components on this prototype are not production ready, like the WP suspension. It also went on to say that the Duke 790 will get advanced ride-by-wire system along with the next generation riding assistance and integrated connectivity. This naked street fighter gets a quickshifter for its performance needs. There also are custom riding modes and traction control that can be personalised.
We are expecting KTM to unveil the production version during the next EICMA in 2017. But there are rumours about an adventure model based on the Duke 790 to be showcased by Husqvarna in the next few hours. Unfortunately, production models of both bikes won’t come to India anytime soon.
