The Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori, better known as the EICMA will have a number of manufacturers displaying their offerings this year; although only a handful will make it to India. Here is the list of the motorcycles we expect to arrive in our country in the near future.
KTM 390 Scrambler
The KTM 390 Scrambler was recently spotted testing. The bike, based on the 390 Duke featured an off-road fender, visibly revised suspension setup and spoke wheels shod with dual purpose tyres. The motorcycle was spotted alongside another upcoming bike, the 390 Adventure.
Triumph Tiger 800
The new Tiger 800 is an all-new motorcycle. It is expected to feature a revised and more powerful in-line three engine, better technology and a new fascia which seems to be inspired from the bigger Tiger Explorer 1200. The Tiger range has been Triumph’s hot cake in India and it is only obvious that the bike will arrive here soon.
Ducati Scrambler 1100
The Italian manufacturer has its kitty full with five bikes to be revealed at the EICMA. The Scrambler 1100 is one of them and is expected to use a 1078cc L-Twin engine. We expect Ducati to get the bike to India as a rival to Triumph’s modern classics like the Street Twin and Bonneville T100.
BMW F850 GS
BMW recently released a teaser of the motorcycle which has been spotted testing a couple of times before. The F850 GS is sleeker and gets various features to accentuate its off-road capabilities. While the F850 GS will replace the F800 GS sold internationally, it will be BMW’s competitor against the Honda Africa Twin and the Triumph Tiger 800 when launched in India.
Hero MotoCorp concepts
The Indian manufacturer is also participating at the EICMA and will reveal two concepts there. According to sources, one of the concepts will have dual-purpose abilities while the other will be a faired motorcycle most likely sharing its engine with the HX250 R concept. The source claims that these two motorcycles will go into production soon, unlike Hero’s earlier concepts.
