Hero MotoCorp's latest teaser has revealed new details about its new dual-sport concept, which will make its debut at the 2017 EICMA Show.
It is quite clear from this photo that Hero’s new motorcycle will be a dual-sport motorcycle rather than an out-and-out adventure bike. While this might disappoint off-road enthusiasts, the decision to develop a dual-sport motorcycle might have been taken to make it feasible for a market like India. It gets the characteristic dual-sport cues like a tall stance, upright riding position, long suspension travel and a raised front mudguard. The shot also hints that the motorcycle is riding on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels, rather than a 21-inch and 19-inch setup, which is again a sensible move for a mass-market motorcycle. Although technical details aren’t available as of now, we can expect it to be powered by an engine with a capacity north of 200cc.
The Hero Impulse might have failed commercially, but it left a void in the Indian two-wheeler market. While the Royal-Enfield Himalayan has attempted to fill this void, several quality issues with the motorcycle have kept a major chunk of enthusiast audience at bay. Now however, there seems to be a glimmer of hope for those always aspiring to buy a more powerful version of the Hero Impulse.
