The BMW C 400 X maxi scooter has made its global debut at the EICMA Show in Italy. Targeted at an urban audience, the C 400 X is powered by a 33bhp single-cylinder engine.
This is BMW Motorrads first maxi scooter in the mid-size segment. While the C 400 X inherits the design language from the C 650 Sport scooter, the sharper body lines and the LED headlamp give it a distinctive look. The fairing not only serves aesthetic purposes, but also offers protection against the weather. Under the seat are two storage compartments. The instrument console gets a 6.5-inch TFT display, similar to the one on the new F850GS. The display can be paired with the rider’s phone.
Built around a tubular steel frame, the C 400 X rides on telescopic front forks. The single-cylinder fuel-injected engine delivers 33bhp and 35Nm of torque through a CVT gearbox. The C 400 X gets disc brakes at both ends with ABS. We do not expect the C 400 X to be launched in India any time soon.
