Ducati has revealed the 959 Panigale Corse for 2018. It will be the Italian manufacturer’s most performance focused V-Twin supersport motorcycle after the V4 replaces the 1299 Panigale.
The Corse edition sets itself apart from the standard 959 Panigale with its white and red paint scheme that is inspired by Ducati’s MotoGP livery. The 959 Panigale Corse also gets 43mm Ohlins NIX30 forks upfront and a Ohlins TTX36 monoshock at the rear that replace the Showa and Sachs suspension on the standard bike. It also features an Ohlins adjustable steering damper.
The 959 Panigale Corse is 2.5kg lighter than the standard bike with a kerb weight of 197.5kg, thanks to the lightweight lithium-ion battery. The bike also sports an Akrapovic double-barrel exhaust as standard. Its electronic package consists of Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Ducati Quick Shift (DQS), Engine Brake Control (EBC), three riding modes-Race, Sport and Wet along with ABS as standard.
At the heart of the 959 Panigale Corse is the same Euro4- compliant, 955cc L-twin Superquadro engine that produces 157bhp and 107Nm of torque. The bike is priced at £15,895 (Rs 13.4 lakh) in the UK and is expected to arrive in India in a limited number sometime next year.
