Ducati will launch an updated version of the Multistrada 1200 at the EICMA in Italy next week.
Earlier reports revealed that the bike is called the Multistrada 1260 and will share a similar version of the 1262cc Testastretta DVT engine as the XDiavel. It is also expected to be 10kg lighter than the existing Multistrada 1200, bringing its kerb weight down to 222kg
Now, more details of the upcoming bike have emerged. The bike will be available in three versions; the standard Multistrada 1260, Multistrada 1260 S and Multistrada 1260 Pikes Peak. These bikes will be sold alongside the Multistrada 1200 Enduro and Enduro Pro.
The Multistrada 1260’s 1262cc Testastretta DVT engine will now produce 155.5bhp over the outgoing model’s 150bhp. The leaked documents don’t reveal the torque figures, and it is unlikely to be a major increase from the current 1198cc engine’s 128Nm.
The documents reveal that the Multistrada 1260 has lower emissions. We can also expect the bike to have a better fuel economy. Ducati is likely to reveal the Multistrada 1260 along with the 2018 model range on Sunday, 5 November.
