Honda revealed the CB300R; the streetfighter version of the faired CBR300R which is sold internationally.
The bike’s styling draws inspiration from its elder sibling, the CB1000R which sports a neo-retro design language. It uses a tubular steel frame that houses a 286cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. This engine produces 31bhp at 8500rpm and 27.5Nm of torque at 7500rpm and is mated to a six-speed transmission.
The CB300R gets 41mm inverted forks and a preload adjustable monoshock at the rear. It gets its braking power from a 296mm front disc held by a four-pot Nissin calliper while the rear gets a single-pot 220mm disc. The bike surprisingly sports an IMU; a feature that can be found on higher capacity motorcycles. The IMU guides the dual-channel ABS to give precise front to rear brake force distribution.
It features LED headlamps and turn indicators and an LCD instrument console which displays the speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge and gear indicator. While the bike will be available in international markets by early next year, it is unlikely that we will see the bike on Indian roads anytime soon.
