Kawasaki has unveiled the Ninja H2 SX for those wanting to tour with a supercharger whizzing between their legs.
The design of the Ninja H2 SX is based on the iconic Ninja H2 and at first glance could also be mistaken for the latter. The bike being a tourer, Kawasaki has given it a relaxed riding position along with a pillion seat.
The Ninja H2 SX shares the same engine as the Ninja H2 - a 998cc in-line four cylinder engine. Although torque figures are unknown, the bike produces 197bhp, the same as its supersport sibling. Kawasaki says that the power output is more focused in the low to mid-range. The bike also has a longer wheelbase and the trellis frame has a payload limit of 190kg allowing for pillion and panniers.
The supercharger not only improves the performance of the engine, but also improves the emission and efficiency. Kawasaki has gone to the extent of saying that the Ninja H2 SX is more efficient than the Ninja 1000. The bike’s electronic package is the same as the Ninja H2 although it now features a cruise control system.
Kawasaki has also showcased the Ninja H2 SX SE that features a TFT dash, cornering adaptive lights integrated on the fairing and a two-way quickshifter. We can expect the bikes to arrive in India in the first half of 2018 in limited numbers.
